Mango Sticky Rice Recipe

Make this delicious Mango Sticky Rice at home! This is inspired by a famous Thai dessert known as khao neow mamuang.

Mango Sticky Rice Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2  pcs ripe mangoes, sliced
  • 1 kg cooked sticky rice
  • 3 1/2 cups coconut cream
  • 7 tbsp white sugar
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • iodized salt, to taste
  • sesame seeds, for topping


Procedures:

For the sticky rice:

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, put 1 ½ cups of coconut cream.
  2. Add some salt and white sugar. Stir continuously and cook until it boils.
  3. Turn off heat then add the cooked sticky rice. Mix until well distributed. Let sit for 30 minutes.
  4. Cook the rice mixture on low fire for 15 to 20 minutes then set aside.

For the cream sauce:

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, put the remaining coconut cream, cornstarch, and some iodized salt.
  2. Stir continuously and cook until the sauce thickens.

Preparation:

  1. Mold the rice mixture to your preferred shape then place it on a serving plate.
  2. Put sliced mangoes.
  3. Top with the coconut cream sauce and sesame seeds.
  4. Serve and enjoy your Mango Sticky Rice!
