Filipinos are creative people. They are well-known for delicious cuisines, but they always want some more to be added to the dish. Creativity turned out to be pretty great. Dish combinations might sound weird, but you will be amazed by how good it is.

1. FRENCH FRIES AND SUNDAE/ICE CREAM

Is it your cheat day? Then, this combination would be the best comfort food for you. Your hot French fries plus cold sundae or ice cream? That might sound weird, but that is surprisingly good. This combination started when some of McDonald’s customers posted their fries and sundae combo on social media. People saw it, and they tried it themselves, and it proved to be awesomely delicious. The best ice cream flavor for fries is vanilla. You can choose other ice cream flavors, but vanilla is still the best.

2. MANGO AND SHRIMP PASTE (MANGGA AT BAGOONG)

You can hear this food usually when pregnant women are craving for this food combination, but this is not exclusive only to them, but for every Filipino, this is now their new favorite. This is especially famous during the summer when mango trees are bearing more fruits. If you want to make your own quick bagoong, here is the recipe:

Ingredients:
o Garlic
o Onion
o Oil
o Shrimp paste
o Soy sauce
o Vinegar
o Sugar

Procedure:
1) Prepare your pan and sauté the garlic and onion.
2) Add the shrimp paste, then mix.
3) At the separate bowl, pour an equal amount of soy sauce and vinegar.
4) Add sugar, then pour the sautéed shrimp paste on the bowl. You may add chili if you like.



3. PAN DE SAL AND COFFEE

This is one of the favorite breakfasts of every Filipino, one of the reasons  why popular saying was invented, “walang matigas na tinapay sa mainit na kape.” This has a different meaning for every Filipino. It might also mean, “there is no stubborn child with a mother’s stick.” Whatever does it mean, this combination is the perfect food to start your day. 4. BEEF TAPA, SINANGAG, AND FRIED EGG/ITLOG (TAPSILOG)

There are other “silog” combinations. The “silog combinations are hotsilog (hotdog, sinangag at itlog), hamsilog (ham, sinangag at itlog), longsilog (longganisa, sinangag at itlog), cornsilog (corned beef, sinangag at itlog), and many more. You can add extra rice.



5. TUYO AND CHAMPORADO

During the rainy season, champorado is the favorite Filipino recipe. Champorado is the combination of sticky rice and cocoa or tablea. Before any other recipes appeared, champorado became the favorite snacks of Filipino. For better taste, add tuyo to the dish and it will surely surprise you.

Here is the quick recipe for champorado:

Ingredients:
o Tablea or cocoa
o Glutinous rice
o Sugar
o Milk (optional)

Procedure:
1) Boil water.
2) Once the water starts boiling, dissolve the cocoa.
3) Add the glutinous rice, then stir continuously within 15-25 minutes.
4) Add sugar. You may add milk if you like.
